Dual Degrees and Exchange programs

Dual Degree with Astana IT University, Kazakhstan

The Master in Telecommunication Engineering also features a Dual Degree with Astana IT University (AITU), Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan. If you sign this curriculum, you will have the opportunity of spending one year at UNICAS and one year at AITU, and, at the end of the program, you will be awarded of two master degree diplomas, one from each of the partner universities. 

Erasmus+ Mobility

The Erasmus+ Mobility is sponsored by the European Union and allows students to spend part of their university career, from three to twelve months, in another European university. This program grants the following benefits:

The University of Cassino and Southern Lazio offers several destinations in the areas of telecommunications engineering. The call for applications is usually released in March and published on the website of International Office. The mobility must take place anytime between September and August of the following year. Applicants are selected on the basis of the academic record, the knowledge of the language required by the host university, the motivation, and the ability to adapt to a different culture. Erasmus+ Trainership

The Erasmus+ Traineeship is sponsored by the European Union and allows students to do a placement in enterprises, training centers, research centers, and organizations of other European countries. This program allows students to acquire specific skills and a better understanding of the social and economic culture of the host country with the aim to promote the mobility of young workers throughout Europe.

The call for applications is published on the website of International Office. Be aware that the application deadline may be scheduled well in advance of the beginning of the activities. For additional information or inquiries, refer to the personnel of the International Office.

The training project at the host company/institution must be previously approved by a university advisor. The experience can be recognized as a part of the university career, providing up to 6 ECTS credits (in substitution of an elective course).

Mobility in Vietnam - University of Hanoi

Students at University of Cassino and Southern Lazio have the opportunity to spend part of their university career, from three to twelve months, at the University of Hanoi in Vietnam (and vice versa). This exchange program grants the following benefits:

Students are selected on the basis of the academic record, the proficiency in English, the motivation, and the ability to adapt to a different culture. Exchange students must fill a learning agreement on the program of studies at the home university and, then, send the application form, the signed learning agreement, and a photocopy of the passport to the international office of the host university. Applications for the fall and spring semesters must be received by the host university prior to July 15th of the same year and October 30th of the previous year, respectively. Mobility and Internship in Germany - DAAD

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides financial support to highly-qualified students and faculty members for international research and study in Germany. Several programs are available, including study sojourns, internships, intensive language courses, summer courses, research sojourns, visiting professorships, short-term lectureships, and participation in seminars and conferences. 

Funding is awarded on a competitive basis, upon evaluation of the academic merit of the applicant and the feasibility and quality of the proposal. Activities are either in German or in English. The calls for applications are posted every year on the DAAD’s website. The application deadline may be up to 10 months prior to the beginning of the activities.

Placement in Japan - Vulcanus

The VULCANUS program offers an industrial placement in Japanese host companies to European engineering students. The program is run by the EU-Japan Centre For Industrial Cooperation (a joint venture co-financed by the European Commission and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), starting in September and ending in August of the following year. The program includes a seminar on “Japan”, a 4-month Japanese language course, and an 8-month traineeship in a Japanese company. Students are awarded a grant to cover traveling and living expenses.

Applicants are selected on the basis of the academic record, the opinion of their tutors, the knowledge of written and spoken English, the motivation, the attitude to EU-Japan relations, and the ability to adapt to a different culture. The call for applications is posted every year on the VULCANUS’s website. Be aware that the application deadline may be up to 10 months prior to the beginning of the activity.

Mobility in U.S.A. - H2CU

The University of Cassino and Southern Lazio is member of the H2CU (Honors Center of Italian Universities), an association of 21 Italian universities and 3 institutes of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), which supports educational programs in collaboration with 5 American universities (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Polytechnic Institute of New York University, Pace University, Columbia University, Florida International University). The activities promoted by H2CU include short periods of study to pursue research for the thesis and individual double degree programs.

The University of Cassino and Southern Lazio can provide lodging up to 5 people at the H2CU Residence "College Italia" in New York City, NY, USA. The accommodation is reserved to students and researchers involved in study and research activities which meet the H2CU guidelines. Specific calls for applications are published on the website of the International Office and H2CU for the spring term (January-May), the summer term (June-August), and the fall term (September-December). Be aware that the application deadline may be scheduled well in advance of the beginning of the activities. Mobility and Internship in U.S.A. - FULBRIGHT

The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 by J. William Fulbright to promote the peace process through cultural exchanges between the United States and the other countries of the world. This program offers scholarships to Italian citizens for study, internship, and research in USA. The calls for applications are regularly posted on the FULBRIGHT’s website. Be aware that the application deadline may be scheduled well in advance of the beginning of the activities.
